1984 RENAULT R5 TURBO 2 - SOLD

One of about 200 legally imported Renault R5 Turbo 2 sports coupes. SOLD

1984 Renault R5 Turbo 2 in Marine Blue Metallic with Sable cloth interior. Mid-mounted 1.4-liter, turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine with intercooler, 5-speed manual transmission, tubular headers and sport exhaust.

These light-weight (2,200 lbs), two-passenger, rear wheel drive R5s are fast, road-going rally cars. Only about 200 were legally imported and federalized. Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine published a feature story about this very car entitled "Point et Shoot." It called the car "brutally fast" and said, "It is like a French hillbilly's weekend project gone wonderfully right."

This one comes with a fitted car cover and a nice selection of extra bits (the original exhaust header, spare oil filters, spare spark plugs etc). A modern am/fm/cd player is installed. It has had three owners and is in excellent condition. The Carfax shows no reported problems.
